ACIMAC is the national trade association representing the Italian ceramic machinery and equipment manufacturers. Based in Modena, it was set up in 1988 and counts most of the sector's manufacturers among its members. These include companies of various sizes located throughout Italy, although the majority are based in the provinces of Modena and Reggio Emilia, home to the world's most important ceramic manufacturing centre.
ACIMAC offers support to its member companies by providing professional services and information, consultancy and assistance on all the major issues affecting the sector. It conducts intense promotional activities throughout the world and co-ordinates the sector's promotional and trade fair policies using a variety of tools and initiatives. ACIMAC also provides indispensable support in evaluating legislation of interest to the sector.
ACIMAC is a member of Confindustria, the Federation of Italian Industry, making it an integral part of Italian industry's representation system. It maintains links with a variety of institutions and plays a major role in promoting the growth of the sector as a whole. Being part of a national and international network helps the association pursue initiatives and develop strategies for the sector. In particular, it is represented within international organisations and technical committees, in order to provide adequate representation for its member companies.
